Overall the entire system is great. The stainless steel is perfect for frying, boiling, or steaming just about anything. Also works great for brewing beer. The propane connector hose (@ 10psig) is a little shoddy where it connects to the propane tank, other than that, a very solid piece of serious outdoor cooking equipment.
very nice

I bought this for my husband for Christmas last year. It is extremely well made, sturdy and worth paying a little bit more than the others you see online. We have had it for almost a year and feel it was one of the best things we have purchased online

I looked around online for over a week and this was the best deal around! I got a 32 Quart Stainless Steel Pot with additional turkey fryer accessories and the burner for a great price! I couldn't be happier with it. I have already made a couple batches of beer with it and it works great!
A+

This is a quality stainless steel cooker. Used it twice and worked real well. Would recommend spending the little extra and getting the stainless steel.
Great fryer set

Nicely built and stands up to the elements. Huge pot. The flame is adjustable quite easily. Good buy.
Good bang for the buck

I purchased this item specifically for making beer. Since I was in the market, I thought I'd might like to try and fry a turkey too. I was also looking for a stainless pot - I have a major thing against aluminum! Anyway, it worked beautifully! The pot is great and has all the nice extra stuff for frying a turkey, hush puppies, or steaming something. The burner worked really well, the only negative is the frame for the burner (the black stand), the paint burned off. I would expect it to have something more industrial to withstand that kind of heat. Overall it's a great bang for the buck!
Works as expected - great - although a bit hard to control burn rate

This product produced the best turkey ever. It is HUGE though, so you'll need a good bit of storage space. Oh, and something to do with all that oil when you are done. Hope you are using an oil-burning conversion call.
Pretty Decent for a Stock Pot

For the most part you can't go wrong with a stainless steel stock pot. I got it for making beer, amongst other things, and it seemed to work out nicely. The included outdoor burner heat's nice and evenly if you keep it out of wind and it was really stable on my uneven lawn. The only real problem I had with it is where they did the engraving on the pot itself. There was this thin oily residue that looked like it was machine oil or cutting oil of some type. Definitely not something you want in your beer. It took about 4 hours of scrubbing with a brush and some dish soap, but I finally got it to where I felt safe brewing with the pot. Would have gotten five stars if the oil wasn't there.
BUYER BEWARE! Make sure it matches the product description!

BUYERS BEWARE! Make sure it matches the product description!
I ordered this model number (#9195) on February 9th 2010 from Amazon, it was just delivered today (February 16, 2010). The one I received does NOT match the "Product Features" description. According to Amazon.com's product listing the model #9195 is supposed to have the 20 PSI regulator and a 48" hose. However! The box I received says it's the #9195 model number BUT the features listed on the box don't match this product listing here! The #9195 I received says it includes a 10 PSI regulator and 36" hose. I just added an image to the customer images on this product for you all to see.
There is a difference though it may seem small! A 20 PSI regulator gives more control over the flame on the burner, and obviously a 48" hose is well... longer than a 36" hose! I'm impatiently waiting for Amazon to correct this. I'm crossing my fingers they send the one that actually matches the "product features" listed here. I will update you all with the results when I get them.
**UPDATE February 19, 2010**
Amazon has once again, screwed up my order on this product. I ordered this way in advance so that I could have it by today. They attempted to exchange it for the correct one... and lone behold, the one they rushed to correct the mix-up was not only sent directly from Amazon's Returns Center instead of Bayou directly like it was the first time... but it was also a cheaper model!! A model that was nearly half the price I paid at the time for the model #9195 (which was a hundred seventy six dollars!). So since no retailers near me sell these in stock (which is why I purchased it here in the first place). I got stuck having to use the one they sent me as a "correction" which was an older and much cheaper model, which it too was a 10PSI regulator and 36" hose ... because there was no way they'd be able to correct it in time for today AGAIN. They issued me a refund of the difference in cost for the one I ended up needing to keep. I also, have since looked up the model #9195 from Bayou's company catalog online and sure enough Amazon has the wrong product description for this model number!! So BUYER BEWARE EVERYONE! In all my years doing business with Amazon.com this is the first time I've had them screw up this royally. However, they will still have my business because the customer service to resolve this issue was great--even though, I had to Google to get their direct customer service number (1-800-201-7575)!
**UPDATE March 3, 2010**
I can't help but laugh now. Amazon temporarily made this item unavailable for ordering while waiting to process my return but since my return was received they have now made the item available again through them.... and Amazon has still NOT updated the product description on this item! So everyone PLEASE BE AWARE this fryer set does NOT include a 20 PSI regulator or 48 inch hose! To everyone that orders it, and it doesn't match the product description--I encourage you to call and complain! Get a discount for false advertisement! Perhaps if they get enough complaints they'll get smart and finally correct their incorrect product description! |
